This poem was written early in the morning on January 4th, 1998. It flowed out of my spirit and I did not need to change a word!
The sweetness of my Savior nigh
Is dearer than the tears I cry
His tender, warm and caring touch
Enable me to endure much
For He, my Lord, has gone before
A quiet Lamb as He was shorn.
No man can take away the gain
Which He has giv’n me thru the pain.
Though men may not yet understand
This sheep is His – I have His brand
And nothing will deter me more
From passing through each open door
That leads me ever sweeter near
The One who counts my every tear.
