The Love of His Perfect Sacrifice

crucifix

His blood, His life, His love were all lavished upon us!  His is the greatest love.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

HEB 9:14 (New Living Translation) Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

The Love of His Perfect Sacrifice

The iniquities of man lashed cruelly at His skin

While demon hordes of hell foolishly grinned

Yet those horrid wounds upon Christ’s back brought victory

The blood of the perfect sacrifice freed me!

*

With pain in every step, He climbed up Calvary’s hill

The Lamb surrendered to Love’s selfless will

Into His hands and feet, they drove the iron nails

Yet the blood of the perfect sacrifice prevails!

*

Chorus:

Love prevails, love prevails!

By the blood of the perfect sacrifice, love prevails!

Love never fails, love never fails!

By the blood of the perfect sacrifice, love prevails!

“Forgive them, Abba!” Though in anguish, Yeshua cried.

Then giving up His Spirit, on the cross He died

A soldier’s lance tore open wide the Savior’s side

The blood of the perfect sacrifice, flowed for His bride!

*

They scorned the King of Kings once, with a thorny crown

The blood of the perfect sacrifice gushed down

But He will come again and none can take His crown

Loud “Hosannas” to the King will then resound!

*

Chorus 2

Will then resound, will then resound

Loud “Hosannas” to the King will then resound!

Will then resound, will then resound

Loud “Hosannas” to the King will then resound!

Chorus 1 again

  1. Good song! Songs usually have verses of death followed by verses of triumph, but yours is out of order having the triumphant verses first and ending with his death. I like that – I think it gives a feel of eternal triumph, how Jesus was triumphant before, during, and after his death.
