I wrote the first verse to this some twenty years ago. In memory of the 55 million babies killed in America in the past forty years since abortion was made legal, I’ve revived it. Perhaps it’ll strike a chord somewhere and save a beating heart.
This is the song that I am singing in NetFlix’s unsavory documentary (halfway through) “Reversing Roe”. They didn’t ask me for it was a public event in July 2013. (My voice was a little strained because it was hard to hear out there with the the pro-abortion people shouting, some of them saying “Hail, satan!”!)
(It may be sung to the folk melody popular in the sixties: “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?”)
V1
Where have all the babies gone?
Torn from their mothers’ wombs
Where have all the babies gone?
Into trash-can tombs
REFRAIN
Where have all the babies gone?
I pray to heaven for everyone
How can we sanction this?
So many babes unkissed.
V2
Where have all the babies gone?
Before they hear a lullaby
Where have all the babies gone?
Conceived then brought to die
V3
Where have all the babies gone?
Torn away and torn are hearts
Where have all the babies gone?
Brought to the killing marts
